How a Jury is Selected

Jurors are chosen through a random selection process of persons whose names appear on the current voter registration list or a combination of voter registration and driver’s license listings. The judge may schedule an orientation to acquaint you with the system and to assign you to a particular service group, called a panel. When a jury trial is essential, the court is required to notify a specific number of jurors. The court will direct your panel to appear in court at a designated time and place for the trial.
