NOTICE OF SURRENDER OF ATTORNEY'S
PRIVILEGE TO PRACTICE LAW
IN RE: MURREY GRIDER

Murrey Grider, an attorney formerly practicing law in Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas, with Arkansas Bar ID #74064 has been barred from engaging in the practice of law in this State for violation of the Arkansas Model Rules of Professional Conduct. On the recommendation of the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct, the Arkansas Supreme Court accepted the surrender of the law license of Murrey Grider on November 1, 2001.
Mr. Grider's Petition to Surrender was based upon violation of Model Rules 8.4(b), 8.4(c) and 8.4(d) of the Arkansas Model Rules of Professional Conduct. The Petition and attached exhibits on file with the Clerk of the Arkansas Supreme Court demonstrate that Mr. Grider was convicted by a jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas in United States v. George Nicholas "Nick" Wilson and Murrey L. Grider, Case No. LR-CR-99-61, of count of Conspiracy to Defraud the United States by Tax Evasion in violation of 18 U.S.C. Section 371 and two counts of Aiding and Abetting Tax Evasion in violation of 26 U.S.C. Section 7201 and 18 U.S.C. Section 2 and that, on January 12, 2000, Mr. Grider entered a guilty plea in the same case to Count Two of the Superceding Indictment, Racketeering Act, a violation of 18 U.S.C. Section 1341, a felony.
