The filing period for the 2016 Nonpartisan Judicial Election closed on November 9, 2015. The ballot will include contested races for two state-wide Supreme Court positions, two Court of Appeals Districts and four Circuit Court judgeships. Terms for all of the state’s District Court judgeships will also expire and several contested races will appear on local ballots.
With the resignation of former Chief Justice Jim Hannah and the expiration of the interim appointment of Chief Justice Howard Brill, two candidates are seeking the Chief Justice position. They include Associate Justice
Courtney Goodson and Circuit Judge Dan Kemp. Seeking the position currently held by Associate Justice Paul Danielson are Circuit Judge Shawn A. Womack and Clark W. Mason.
Each of the judicial positions and the registered candidates is shown on this list. The election will be held on March 1, 2016.
